Dr. April Andrews
Dr. April Andrews was raised in Clanton, Alabama. She has owned and showed Quarter Horses for most of her life. She is married to Ricky Sanford (office manager for APHS) and has three children, Ty, Case and Sawyer. Dr. Andrews is a graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM. She completed an internship at Shambley Equine Clinic in Charleston, South Carolina and worked at Harrington Equine Hospital in Pelham, Alabama for three years before starting Alabama Performance Horse Services, Inc. in 2008. Dr. Andrews enjoys all aspects of equine practice but has a strong love for lameness and rehab.
Hannah Ennis, DVM
Dr. Hannah Ennis is an equine veterinarian with Alabama Performance Horse Services located in Pike Road, Alabama. Originally from Seale, Alabama, Dr. Ennis grew up showing Quarter Horses in Western Pleasure at local horse shows. She later began competing in Barrel Racing at NBHA shows and high school rodeos.
Dr. Ennis completed her undergraduate and veterinary education at Auburn University. She is an avid Auburn fan and enjoys attending Auburn football, basketball, and baseball games. During her veterinary school career, she participated in externships in Cheyenne, Wyoming with the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo arena veterinarian. She also completed a 2 month preceptorship with a mixed animal practice in Parkersburg, Iowa. These incredible experiences have further prepared her for an exciting career in Equine Veterinary Medicine.As the new associate veterinarian at Alabama Performance Horse Services, Dr. Ennis will be available for ambulatory services. In addition to equine farm calls, Dr. Ennis also enjoys working with cattle, goats, sheep, and swine.
